The Dawn of Darkness
The Second City
After the Great Flood and the destruction of Enoch, the surviving vampires reassembled while the descendants of Noah spread across the earth. The Second Generation and their Antediluvian childer sought to build a new Enoch and re-establish their role as the kings of men. The ancients embraced widely and grew their numbers at an explosive rate, as their appetites could only sustain themselves on the blood of other vampires. Within barely a thousand years their lines had embraced so much that the blood could barely sustain the newly embraced, ushering in the first Time of Thin Blood. This ominous weakening of the blood along with myriad other political and personal conflicts were the seeds of discord that blossomed into the first flowers of the Jyhad.
This city, never granted a name, eventually collapsed under these civil wars – culminating in the deaths of Enoch, Irad, and Zillah at the hands of their own childer. Caine returned from his self imposed exile since the flood and passed judgment on his grandchilder and their warring get. He cursed each of the third generation, setting upon each of the clans a distinct weakness that manifested in the blood of all of their progeny. Caine destroyed the city, sending his cursed descendents fleeing into the night.
